Street of Dreams Lyrics by Guns N Roses Chinese Democracy

Street of Dreams Lyrics by Guns N Roses Chinese Democracy

The Street of Dreams was originally known as The Blues. It was showcased by Guns N Roses on their 2006 /2007 World Tour. It opens with a Dizzy piano riff wherein Axl starts the verse with the band following after. One could argue that The Street of Dreams is inspired by Axl Rose's known admiration for Elton John-style piano ballads.

The Street of Dreams lyric by Axl Rose

All the love in the world
Couldn't save you
All the innocence inside
You know I tried so hard to make you
Oh, to make you change your mind

And it hurts too much to see you
And how you left yourself behind
You know I wouldn't want to be you
Now there's a hell I can't describe

So now I wander through my days
And try to find my ways
To the feelings that I felt
I saved for you and no one else
And though as long as this road seems
I know it's called the street of dreams
But that's not stardust on my feet
It leaves a taste that's bittersweet
That's called the blues

I don't know just what I should do
Everywhere I go I see you
Though it's what you planned
This much is true
What I thought was beautiful
Don't live inside of you
Anymore

I don't know just what I should do
Everywhere I go I see you
Though it's what you planned
This much is true
What I thought was beautiful
Don't live inside of you
Anymore

What this means to me
Is more than I know you believe
What I thought of you now
Has I thought that was true before
Were lies I couldn't see
What I thought was beautiful is only memories

Oh oh oh
What'd I tell you
Oh oh oh
That's
Oh oh oh
Oh oh oh
Inside of you

Blind people like me need the bigger lettered lyrics on the net....;-) Still, the booklet and you haven´t got it all right:1) "what I thought IS/WAS/AS??? you now" - definitely NOT "of"! 2)"has cost more THAN it should for me" 3)the missing part after "that´s..." in the last ohohohs I sadly cannot decipher either....
Thanx for postin, though!:-)

Amended according to the booklet. Cheers!

You dropped a line towards the end, "What I thought was beautiful don't live inside of you anymore....
What this means to me is more than I know you believe....What I thought of you now, has cost more than it should for me. What I thought was true before were lies I couldn't see."

I'm preparing to see axl sing in next march 13
" think I'll die since old 80's
I'm witing for this day

towards the end it sounds like he's saying "that's what I tell ya" right after he said the "what'd I tell ya" in the "oh oh oh" part. idk but that's what I hear

"Has I thought that was true before" is incorrect. Someone pointed out this error LAST YEAR. Fix this, asap.

The correct lyric: "What I thought of you now, has cost more than it should for me".

You can't call this a dedicated site for GnR lyrics if you're so slow to respond. What's the hold up? Fix this.

I think Axl wrote this song for all his old and original GN'R band, the ones that he has a tattoo on his arm from appetite for destruction, that's where the "Every way I go I see you" makes sense. He is a freaking genius trying to find his way after all the bittersweet taste of loosing the best Rock Band of all times...
